Key Personnel required.

1. Civil Engineer.
   Responsibilities
   1. The Civil Engineer will design, plan, and supervise the construction of infrastructure projects
   2. Monitors project progress and ensures design specifications, safety, and sanitation standards are met.
   3. Estimates materials, equipment, and labor needed to determine project costs

Qualifications:
1. Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering required; Master’s degree preferred.

2. Licensure as a professional engineer by the Engineers Board of Kenya (EBK).
3. Must have at least 20 years of experience

 

2. Quantity Surveyor

Responsibilities
1. The Quantity Surveyor will conduct the analysis of the design cost relationship

2. Advising on, and controlling the budget and the financial administration of construction contracts
3. The quantity surveyor will be dealing with contract procedures and documentation.

   Qualifications:
   1. Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying/Building Economics required; Master’s degree preferred.

4. Licensure as a professional engineer by the Board Of Registration of Architects and Quantity Surveyors. (BORAQS).
5. Must have at least 5 years of experience
6. Electrical Engineer.

Responsibilities
1. Managing the generation, transmission, and distribution of power
2. Design of electrical plan.
3. Overseeing technicians and craftsmen

4. Testing and installation of systems

Qualifications:
1. Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering required; Master’s degree preferred.

2. Licensure as a professional engineer by the Engineers Board of Kenya (EBK).
3. Must have at least 10 years of experience
4. Mechanical Engineer.

Responsibilities
1. Analyzing project specifications, developing work schedules, and delegating tasks to different teams
2. Supervising staff and manufacturing processes and making appropriate recommendations for improvement.

Qualifications:
1. Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering required; Master’s degree preferred.

2. Licensure as a professional engineer by the Engineers Board of Kenya (EBK).
3. Must have at least 10 years of experience
4. ICT Engineer.

Responsibilities
1. Installation, configuration and testing of equipment
2. Monitoring, technical support and planning of all aspects of the network infrastructure (LAN/WAN/Wireless network) while ensuring ICT environment is secure.

3. Evaluating network performance issues including availability, utilization, throughput and latency.
4. Security Compliance reporting
5. Establishing, managing and administering ICT security policy and procedures to ensure preventive and recovery strategies are in place and minimize the risk of internal and external security threats

Qualifications:
1. Bachelor’s degree in ICT Engineering required; Master’s degree preferred.

2. Licensure as a professional engineer by the Engineers Board of Kenya (EBK).
3. Must have at least 10 years of experience
4. Land Surveyor.

Responsibilities
1. Measuring property boundaries, by conducting surveys on land sites and properties
2. Creating records of survey results.

3. Examine previous records and evidence to ensure data accuracy.

Qualifications:
1. Bachelor’s degree in Land Surveying required; Master’s degree preferred.

2. Licensure as a professional engineer by the Institute of Surveyors of Kenya (ISK).
3. Must have at least 10 years of experience
4. Project Financial Manager/Accountant

Responsibilities
1. Looking after and maintaining the project reports

2. Maintaining all relevant income and expenditure for each project
3. Analyzing all project expenses and providing commentary
4. Ensuring robust financial reporting across business
5. Developing financial systems along with IT support to make processes more user friendly
   Qualifications:
   1. Bachelor’s degree in finance, business or commerce; Master’s degree preferred.
6. Must have at least 15 years of experience
7. Environmental Safeguards Specialist.

Responsibilities
1. Review and update the existing project Environmental and Social Management Framework (ESMF) in line with the revised UNDP guidelines;

2. Support the PMU in the co-ordination, management and implementation of the project safeguards in compliance with the Social and Environmental Standards (SES) to ensure full compliance with UNDP guidelines;
3. Support the PMU in the development and rolling out of a safeguards monitoring and reporting system against the Environmental and Social Management Framework (ESMF) provisions;
4. Advise in the co-ordination of the implementation of social audits for all completed project contracts;
5. Support the project line ministries, responsible parties to achieve the maximum safeguards efficiency in their assigned tasks
6. Support the project to ensure that safety and health concerns of the workers and the general public are addressed during pre- construction, construction and implementation phases of the project civil works;
7. Support to ensure the timely and accurate consolidation of ESMF related information of each sub-project prior to submission for bid documentation preparation;
8. Establish the budget required to implement the ESMF requirements.

Qualifications:
1. Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science required; Master’s degree preferred.

2. Licensure at NEMA.
3. Must have at least 10 years of experience
4. Social Safeguards Specialist.

Responsibilities
1. Providing conceptual and operational leadership on the core social development themes under the EASP project
2. Serving as a lead person on social issues including, stakeholder engagement, grievance management, vulnerable and marginalized groups who may be affected by the project.

3. Ensuring social safety clauses are incorporated in all agreements signed.
4. Ensuring that relevant stakeholders are informed about issues relating to implementation of a project social safeguards and providing the required support for timely implementation
5. Continuous monitoring of social, equity and gender issues concerning the project with a view to assess and evaluate the social impacts of the Project.

Qualifications:
1. Bachelor’s degree in Social Science required; Master’s degree preferred.

2. Must have at least 7 years of experience
3. Health and Safety Safeguards Specialist.

Responsibilities
1. Promote occupational and personal safety, health and wellness;

2. Protect the health and safety the staff;
3. Provide information to the staff about health and safety hazards;
4. Identify and correct health and safety hazards and encourage the staff to report​ potential hazards;
5. Conduct activities in a manner protective of the environment, and provide information regarding environmental impacts associated with institutional operations;
6. Maintain a risk-based emergency management program to reduce the impact of emergency events
7. Support the project to ensure that safety and health concerns of the workers and the general public are addressed during pre- construction, construction and implementation phases of the project civil works;

Qualifications:
1. Bachelor’s degree in Occupation health and safety required; Master’s degree preferred.

2. Must have at least 7 years of experience
3. Human Resource Specialist.

Responsibilities
1. Recruiting new employees or processing termination paperwork;

2. Preparing compensation packages with company policies set out by law;
3. Fostering healthy workplace practices throughout every department;

Qualifications:
1. Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration required; Master’s degree preferred.

2. Must have at least 7 years of experience
3. An understanding of Kenya’s labor laws and disciplinary procedures.
4. Plant/Equipment Manager.

Responsibilities
1. Have safe operating procedures for the plant item
2. Undertake a risk assessment of the plant items’ environment and develop control measures to reduce the likelihood of injury.
3. Induct and train your staff

4. Keep records to show compliance and your efforts
5. Make sure to maintain the plant item in a safe working order

Qualifications:
1. Diploma in Mechanical Engineering required

2. Must have at least 10 years of experience
3. Asphalt Plant Manager.

Responsibilities
1. Monitor material quality and inspected material. Work closely with Quality Control Department
2. Coach and monitor team members and sites to comply with safety regulations.

3. Direct and or perform maintenance & repairs on equipment
4. Calibrate plant for maximum efficiency
5. Troubleshooting to determine downtime and eliminate or minimize the causes in the future by implementing preventive maintenance procedures

Qualifications:
1. Certificate in asphalt plant operations required

2. Must have at least 10 years of experience
3. Site Foreman

Responsibilities

1. Coordinate tasks according to priorities and plans
2. Produce schedules and monitor attendance of crew
3. Allocate general and daily responsibilities
4. Supervise and train workers and tradespeople
5. Ensure manpower and resources are adequate
6. Guarantee all safety precautions and quality standards are met
7. Supervise the use of machinery and equipment
8. Monitor expenditure and ensure it remains within budget
9. Resolve problems when they arise
10. Report on progress to managers, engineers etc.

Qualifications

1. Diploma in civil engineering required.
2. Must have at least 10 years of experience
3. Pipe fitters and Plumbers

Responsibilities

1. Reading and interpreting blueprints to assess or plan plumbing installations and layouts.
2. Installing, maintaining and repairing plumbing systems and fixtures.
3. Cutting, welding and assembling pipes, tubes, fittings, and fixtures.
4. Inspecting and testing plumbing systems for safety, functionality, and code compliance.

Qualifications

1. A Technical Certificate required.
2. Must have at least 10 years of experience
3. Mason

Responsibilities

1. Assist in building layout, framing, sheathing and roofing structures
2. Use equipment and tools to safely perform basic construction tasks
3. Correct any safety hazards and report them to the foreman
4. Read and follow technical drawings
5. Train apprentices as needed to ensure projects are completed in a timely manner
6. Mix cement and mortar on the job site as needed
